Overview

Located in the heart of Eastwood at 193 Rowe Street, Superbowl Chinese Restaurant brings over four decades of culinary tradition to Sydney’s vibrant Asian dining scene. As an established name with roots tracing back to Chinatown since 1985, this venue offers both a nod to classic Chinese flavors and a tailored modern dining experience.

The restaurant’s spacious and inviting layout caters well to a range of patrons—from families and small groups to larger gatherings. Whether choosing a round table, a long table, or a cozy booth, diners can expect a clean, bright environment that enhances the enjoyment of their meal without distraction. Though some customers have noted the midday floor cleaning can be a bit strong, the overall environment remains tidy and well-kept.

Superbowl’s kitchen excels in delivering traditional staples with careful attention to detail and freshness. Their signature Sampan Congee remains a must-try, a silky rice porridge that balances subtle flavors and comforting warmth. Dishes like the Stir Fried Chinese Broccoli with Beef and Beef Brisket in Soup with Egg Noodles showcase skilled stir-fry and slow-cooking techniques, blending fresh ingredients with fragrant broths and sauces.

Seafood lovers will appreciate options such as Braised Vermicelli in XO Sauce, Oysters with Ginger and Shallots, and Stir Fried Pipis in XO Sauce. The chef’s mastery of XO sauce—a condiment celebrated for its umami depth—elevates these dishes beyond the ordinary. Unique touches including steamed squid and Kam Heong pipis served on crispy beehoon demonstrate the restaurant’s flair for balancing texture and flavor.

Vegetable selections, including Stir Fried Mixed Seasonal Vegetables and Fresh Chinese Mushrooms with Shanghai Bak Choy, reflect a commitment to freshness and vibrant, well-balanced flavors. The tofu offerings, particularly the braised versions, carry a delicate richness that complements the meal without overpowering it.

The experience is reinforced by attentive service. Staff members are known for their friendly and professional approach, contributing to a relaxed pacing that does not rush diners. Such service is appreciated by regulars who seek both quality and comfort during their visit.

Superbowl’s client base ranges from longtime Sydney locals familiar with the brand’s legacy to newcomers exploring Eastwood’s diverse food culture. It meets the expectations of those who desire authentic taste, generous portions, and a comfortable setting without pretense.

In all, Superbowl Chinese Restaurant presents a well-rounded offering. It blends heritage with thoughtful execution, making it a reliable choice for anyone craving genuine Chinese cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you come for the iconic congee or the rich flavors of their XO sauce specialties, you leave with satisfaction and a desire to return.

Superbowl Eastwod is the dark horse. Good food, higher quality, sensible pricing. I've eaten here ~4 times over the past week and can say it's been very pleasant. Service is good too. Worth a shot and then some.

Like all good Chinese restaurants, you can’t expect top-tier service, but I didn’t have any major issues—just had to ask a couple of times. The food was solid, though. It’s the kind of place you can trust to serve a proper meal. The lobster e-fu noodles were above average, the fried rice was well done, and the pork ribs had great flavor. Reliable and satisfying.

别不同確不同! The brand of this Chinese Restaurant has been in Sydney over 40 years! I first experienced the congee in Chinatown Sydney back in 1985. I am extremely pleased to see this Restaurant in Eastwood! They offered three seating arrangements : round table, long table and booth seat (卡位). Spacious, bright, tidy and clean. The best and famous signature dish is no doubt their congee. 態度: Waitress manner very good 速度: Fast and accurate order, short wait time 温度: Food temperature is perfect The only less impressive thing was that we smelled strong floor cleaning disinfectant during lunch hours. I believe they might review a better timing to clean the floor, not during busy lunch hours with customers.

Think they are relatively new in the area of Eastwood, unsure if they are franchise of the Superbowl at Chinatown but we went to try. Wide menu selection and currently they have a few set menu options to choose from starting from about $54?, $88.90 , $128.90. The higher the prize per set menu the more dishes you get. We were a table for 4pax hence we went for the $88.90 set menu set E. For the prize there was a combination of different seafood and meat and it comes with steam rice too, at the end of the meal they had also provided complimentary plate of slice naval oranges. Our meal consisted of claypot beef brisket with beancurd skin and radish, steam squid with bean sprouts, claypot prawns with vermicelli and seasonal vegetable served with assorted mushroom. We also tried their Kam Heong piPi served on a bed of crispy beehoon which was really nice! Very impressed with the squid as it was steamed to perfection- tender! Beef brisket was nice and tender, vegetables not overcooked and flavoursome, prawn vermicelli was good- prawns crispy crunch with every bite. Service was good and attentive and the overall dining atmosphere was pleasant and thankfully not hurried along. Amenities like the toilets is ok, clean. However if you have elderly folks, best to accompany as it is somewhat steep flight of stairs down to access which thankfully there is the handrail to hold on to but still best to accompany anyone who’s legs are not too good for safety. Overall pretty decent enjoyable meal! Will return to try other dishes.

The place is clean, and staffs are very attentive. The fried glutinous rice is not as dried but taste is still amazing, tofu dish is delicious (unfortunately forgot to take photo), seafood is fresh, served big portions. Will come back again!

Surprised the ratings are low - the restaurant is much nicer than the same one in Haymarket. Eastwood is a lot cleaner and modern. Food is always good and they have different deals on different days.

Superbowl Chinese Restaurant Eastwood Review on w/12/2024 Superbowl Chinese Restaurant feels more like a cafe than a traditional restaurant, with well-spaced tables providing a comfortable dining experience. The set menus are available for groups of four, offering two dishes plus fried rice. We decided to order an additional dish to try another variety. The portion sizes are reasonable, though the salt and pepper flounder is not very big. The Gai Lan with sliced beef is good, and I believe the beef is not tenderized with bicarbonate. The Ging Du Spare Ribs have the right blend of sweet and tangy flavors. However, the fried rice should not have any “water” under the bed of rice. Overall, the meal is reasonably priced. Since we dined early, the restaurant had only a few customers.
